Inside the episode
The day AI changed the office
David Brown spent over 20 years in data and website testing. He also loved cameras. When ChatGPT arrived in late 2022, he watched the copywriters around him lose work within months.
Instead of panicking, he mixed his two loves together. He built Orion Studios, a podcast and video studio where business owners can tell real stories with real faces.
Let AI hold the pen, not the story
David is not anti AI. He uses it every day. But he uses it for the boring bits: ideas, outlines, checklists and spotting what he might have missed.
The story itself stays with you. Anyone can ask a robot for 12 LinkedIn posts in three seconds. Nobody else can tell your story the way you do.
Build for your customers, not your taste
After years of testing websites, David has seen the same mistake again and again. A founder loves purple, so the website goes purple. But do the customers like purple?
Your website, your videos and your content should be useful to the people you serve. Start with them, and the rest gets much easier.
Stop waiting to feel like it
A teenager once asked David how he motivates himself to start projects. His honest answer: he doesn't. There is stuff on his desk he puts off every day.
But it is never as bad as he thinks once he starts. Done is better than perfect. Motivation often turns up after you begin, not before.
